As Christmas approaches, I’m full of cold and tired out. But I’m looking outwards and want to pay my respects to the seasonal thank you note (that wonderful tradition, now so often neglected) by sending it to some ‘without whom’ people…
1. To the dermatology team in London and the dental team in Colchester who are fighting the good fight to stick me back together. You have made Christmas doable!
2. To the carers at the Thera Trust, the Clinical Nurse Specialist at St Helena Hospice, the district nurses, the GP, the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery staff at Broomfield Hospital, who have worked around the clock to care for my uncle as he dies. You have made Christmas possible. Helping him to see his time out in his own bed, in as much comfort as possible, surrounded by people who genuinely care.
3. To all those medical and care staff working tirelessly this Christmas to make it possible for the rest of us. You know we couldn’t do it without you.
A merry Christmas to you all, my dears!
