Summer started late this year. We have had a glorious June so far, though – bright blue skies, warm sunshine, long days. Last night, there was a heavy storm, and my roses (coy from May’s misery) suddenly bloomed. A beautiful sight to wake up to.
On a long Sunday afternoon walk in the June-light, a short stop by a stream then followed down to the estuary.
One of my favourite buildings, St. Paul’s Cathedral, in one of my favourite places, the City of London. Ground level pictures were taken on 12 July from Paternoster Square, the elevated shots on 24 July from Madison on the rooftop terrace at One New Change. Even in extreme summer heat, some places always keep their cool.
Taken from the Promenade des Anglais, Nice. The beach umbrellas open out in the April sun. The blues open out in anticipation of summer.
